Metaphors of Movement at Fantastic Day Therapy in Spalding, Lincolnshire

Are you stuck? Feeling lost? At a crossroads?

Have you ever noticed how we describe our psychological states using physical positions and movements? That's not just flowery language - it's your mind revealing exactly how it sees your situation.

What is Metaphors of Movement?

Developed by therapist Andrew T Austin, this unique approach explores how the metaphors you use aren't just flowery language - they're precise blueprints of how your mind has structured your problems.

When you say "I'm stuck", your mind isn't being poetic, it's being literal. It's created an internal landscape where you're physically stuck, complete with what you're stuck in, how deeply... and what's keeping you there. And your mind is nothing if not a dedicated architect of elaborate problem structures.

How it works

During Metaphors of Movement work, we'll
  • Identify the metaphors you use to describe your situation.

  • Explore these metaphors in detail.

  • Discover why your previous solutions haven't worked.

  • Find unexpected ways forward that your mind hasn't considered.

Most approaches try to change your feelings about being stuck. But I'll ask you more useful questions: what are you stuck in, how did you get there... and why haven't you moved yet?

Because knowing you're stuck in quicksand requires very different solutions than knowing you're stuck in treacle!

Ready to feel better?

If you're sat there thinking "this sounds promising but slightly odd," that's perfectly normal!

Here's how we can dip our toes in the water:

  1. Book a free 15-minute discovery call (think of it as a casual chat, not an interrogation)

  2. We'll see if we click and if my slightly unconventional approach might be your cup of tea

  3. If it feels right, I'll send you a booking link (if it doesn't, no hard feelings - I promise not to write sad poetry about it

DEEP & MEANINGFUL MOMENT:

"Trust in the you of now."
